Should I buy a Garmin Forerunner 405?

Looking to buy a watch running for the skiing season. However, I'm not sure buying the product more accurate heart rate as a polar or a product and a dedicated Garmin GPS. I like the look of the Forerunner 405 as it does almost everything, although I hear there are reliable, have low battery life and stop working in wet conditions (I live in Brisbane). Your help is appreciated.
